Hey, CSFW made the NHDOT newsletter!

NHDOT logoAs most of you know during the day I work for the State of New Hampshire’s Department of Transportation (NHDOT is so much shorter) as a contract administrator (civil engineer in charge of construction projects). At night and weekends I’m building boats. Every season the DOT’s Public Relations Officer, Bill Boynton, publishes a department-wide newsletter called “On the Move.” It’s a pretty normal company newsletter: a message from the Commissioner, developments in the industry, who got hired, promoted, retired, etc. Stuff DOT employees would find interesting. For the current Spring 2008 issue Bill did a full-page spread on me and Clear Stream Fine Woodworking!

Bill called me up back in January saying he had heard a lot about the boats I had built the year before. We had a nice, hour-long chat covering a whole range of subjects. At the end I told him not too worry too much about losing me to the boat building business. I wasn’y going to quit my day job. I like it too much…

For those who are interested the entire Spring issue of “On the Move” can be downloaded here (3.7 mb PDF). Check us out on page 14. For those who don’t want to download the entire issue here is a link to just page 14 and the CSFW article (1,510 kb PDF).
