The “Queen Of My Heart” is Christine’s personal kayak. She said she wanted the Queen of Hearts playing card some where on her boat… I think I got a bit crazy!!  Hey, I love my wife.  She deserves nothing less.

This would be a very modified custom boat. We created a new hull shape. Even the hatches are heart shaped! Sport expedition fiberglass level. Ash and walnut stems with curly maple handles. Hatches have internal hold-downs. A day hatch and fly rod holder were also added.

The QOH artwork was actually designed on a PC then printed on an inkjet printer.  The artwork was epoxied to the wood deck. Cherry, walnut and maple burl veneers were used for parts of the design. Paint and brass wire was used to for detailing.  The artwork was then sealed with a layer of 6 oz fiberglass and four coats of marine varnish.  It’s been almost six years since it was built and the colors are still vibrant.

It’s a great, fast sea kayak and definitely one of a kind.
